Elenóra is the wife of the infamous jarl Rex. She is a sharp-witted woman with long blond hair and dark blue eyes. She has practiced a lot of combat skills and knows her way around with dagger and bow. She helps her husband with his daily affairs, although she does have her own schemes running as well.
Her family is somewhat large consisting of seven members in total. She has three daughters of ages 12, 9 and 5 and three sons of ages 9, 7 and 5. There are 2 pair of twins both a boy and a girl. All her sons have joined combat training, while her daughters started practicing archery very young. Her husband Rex got knocked over the head during a fierce battle and has suffered from amnesia ever after, he never fully recovered from it so it would seem.
Elenóra grew up in a rich wealthy family. Her father was a renowned huskarl who was in service of the local jarl, after many battles he got rewarded. He was allowed to marry off his daughter to Rex the jarl's son. He accepted this honour and his daughter Elenóra had become the wife of Rex the future ruler. When the jarl eventually died his eldest son took over. Rex was not popular among his people, he loved setting up raids to unkown lands and liked scheming behind the back of the king. After he got hit on the head he was never the same, his amnesia was an excellent opportunity for Elenóra to make him her puppet. As Elenóra kept the amnesia alive by sedating him with a strong substance. She made this drug in substantial quantities and mixed it with his food almost daily. She cleverly stays in the room with him alone when he gets his dinner.
Nowadays Elenóra has been able to continue to organize raids and attacks in Rex's honor. When they are successful she organizes a large banquet in the great hall for all the participants and lavishes them with food, music and women. This way she keeps the troops happy while at the same time expanding her own wealth. In secret she has constructed a small treasure room beneath her house to store some of this wealth. Although part of it belongs to the king, she hides it anyway as she does not care. She is saving some wealth for her children when they have come of age and also for herself when things go wrong. Elenóra takes great care in keeping all her little secrets hidden from all.
Elenóra has warrior skills as well as good rulership skills. Her primary skills are maneuvering and firing, her secondary skills are recovery, search and hide. Due to her title and high status she has extra renown and connections. Her bow is of exceptional quality and has been custom made fitting her physical features. This bow has extra hitting power and +1 is added to the damage roll. She also has a large silver ring as thick as her thumb. This is a ring of strength and has it's own name. The person who possesses it gets +3 extra health points.
The assets of Elenóra are vast. She is in control of a town with harbor (pick a random town card), which has a palisade build around it. At the top of the hill there is a large tower which is situated close to the great hall (pick a random tower card). She also owns 40 silver and has an income of 25. She has one bodyguard (= henchman) accompanying her at all times. One group of huskarls is guarding the tower and hall (warband card of 2x10). In the bay there are three small snekkja ships and one skeid. The captains are henchmen lead at least 20 huskarls accompanied by volunteers from town. There are also 10 town guards and two patrols of 10 karls each (warband card) to protect the settlement area.

The henchmen are members of her clan loyal to her. Each of them lead one of the drakkar ships. The last one is in charge of the forces in the tower and the great hall. All huskarls and henchmen can use a maneuver card. All henchmen have a ship maneuver card as well. Try to isolate one of the groups before storming the town head on.
Scenarios & quests
Elenóra the cunning lady is a large scenario with combat at sea and on land. To weaken her forces the players could start by attacking one of her ships. Although it will not be an easy task, careful timing and scouting will be key in unlocking her position of power. In a cooperative game players should specialize on the specific assets and troops needed, ships, good fighters and a number of scouts and saboteurs. For a solo game it will take time to set up a strong force. Howevere time is not on your side and the victory points will slowly dwindle when you wait too long for the operation to start. The total number of patrols and henchmen depend on the number of players. A starting area for players is most likely Denmark or Sweden. Map size can be made smaller to influence the duration of play. Good starting areas for Elenóra are Scotland, Norway or Iceland. Special items are Elenóra's bow and her ring of strength with +3 life points.
